Conference Call Recording and Playback
This page describes how a moderator can use the Web Control Panel (screenshot to left) or a phone keypad to record conference calls. The moderator can start or stop the recording of conferences at any time. This feature is available as a free service for all call types. The areas explained below include:



1. Start / Stop Recording
Instructions using the phone keypad. To start or stop recording a conference call using you phone, you will use the key combination below:

Start or stop recording the conference call.

When the recording function starts, all participants will hear a single tone. When the recording stops, a double tone is heard on all lines. Only the conference moderator may start and stop recording the conference.

Instructions using the Web Control Panel. To record a conference with the Web Control panel is simple. Follow the steps detailed below to start or stop recording the call:

1. Click on the Conference Management icon on the menu.
2. Click in the View/Manage Conferences link.
3. Click in the Conference ID displayed on the form.
4. Click the Record button to start or stop recording.

The recording will be available upon completion of the conference call and can be downloaded or listened to from the bridge. Detailed instructions for retrieving recordings or listening to recordings appear in the next two sections.

2. Retrieving Recordings
The Conference Management WAV Files form (pictured below) provides a list of audio records of past conference calls. When a conference is recorded, the WAV file recording becomes immediately available for download in this area. Conference call recordings are stored on the server for approximately thirty (30) days from the date of recording. There are three options available for these recordings:

A. Call the Playback Number to play the recording via your phone.
B. Call the Playback Number and use the Web Control Panel to play the recording via your phone.
C. Click the Listen button to review the call on the bridge.
D. Download the recording to your computer by right-clicking on the link and Save As.


A. Playing conference call recordings using your phone. To reach the recordings, follow the steps detailed below:

1. Dial the conference playback number (218-486-3862).
2. Enter the Conference ID followed by the pound (#) key.
3. Enter 0# to listen to the most recent recording.
4. Use the Recording Playback Keypad Shortcuts to navigate the recording.


B. Playing conference call recordings using your phone plus the Web Control Panel. To reach the recordings, follow the steps detailed below:

1. Dial the conference playback number (218-486-3862).
2. Enter the Conference ID followed by the pound (#) key.
3. Enter 0# to listen to the most recent recording, or a reference number to listen to a specific recording. The reference number is retrieved with the Web Control Panel.
4. Use the Recording Playback Keypad Shortcuts to navigate the recording.

In the screenshot below, the recording Reference Number is part of file name (conf747500_28653.WAV). The reference number is 28653, which is the number appearing at the end of the file name. You can get the reference numbers from your web control panel by Conference Management and the WAV Files from the menu.

C. Click the Listen button to review the call on the bridge. From the WAV Files screen pictured in the screenshot above, simply click the Listen button to begin playback of the conference recording.

D. Download the recording to your computer. To save a conference call recording to your computer is a simple process. From the WAV Files screen pictured in the screenshot above, right click on the file name link with your mouse. Select the Save As option from the pop up menu and select a location on your computer to save the WAV file. If the file is large, this process may take several minutes depending on your connection speed.





3. Recording Playback Keypad Shortcuts
Volume Up.
Volume Down.
Play Keypad Assignment.
Back 3 Seconds.
Play from Start.
Forward 3 Seconds.
Back 15 Seconds.
Pause / Resume Playback.
Forward 15 Seconds.
Back 2 Minutes.
Play Last Minute.
Forward 2 Minutes.
